City of Kingston Sponsorship Opportunities
The City of Kingston has created a new policy for sponsoring park benches and trees!
Park benches
Kingston Parks & Recreation is accepting donations for dedicating new or existing park benches, in the name of a special occasion, person, or group, in City parks and public spaces. Whether the bench is existing or new, a recognition plaque will be installed on the bench.
There is no deadline for the bench application, but installation will be determined by weather feasibility. Previous donors will have first right or refusal for renewal after 10 years.
The costs for participating in the program are:
New park bench: $2,000
Plaque on an existing bench: $500
Applications can be found under the Documents section.

Park trees
The City of Kingston has also created a park tree donation program, which allows for the commemoration of a special occasion, person, or group with a tree planted in a Kingston park. A donor recognition plaque will be installed at the base of the tree. Trees planted or supported through donations will be designated as Memorial Trees and will receive regular care and maintenance.
For the tree plantings, there will be two deadlines to apply per year: January 1 for summer planting and May 1 for fall planting.
The donation period is 10 years. Previous donors will have first right or refusal for renewal.
The costs for participating in the program are:
New tree planting: $1,000
Existing tree dedication: $500
