FAQs
- Owners would still be required to abide by the City's Charter Codes when it comes to sidewalk cafes and ADA accessibility.

Would there be permit fees for businesses?
There would not be any permit fees. And the typical $250 permit fee for restaurants offering sidewalk dining would be waived.
What would the Open Streets days and hours of operation be?
Timing would most likely be Thursdays through Saturdays from 4:00 to 11:00 p.m. with an hour on each end for set-up and breakdown. So businesses would be open from 5:00 to 10:00 p..m.
We're also considering Fridays through Sundays, and whether it would be better to be open all day.
What about a safety plan?
Businesses would be required to create, maintain, and publicly post a safety plan. Resources to help owners develop a plan can be found at Forward NY.
